In Ireland the Deaf Community has many organisations fulfilling social and political functions.  They range from parent/toddler groups, to art and cultural/history/drama groups, to political representation.  Contacts for many of these may be obtained from The Irish Deaf Society.

We do not provide a range of support services obtainable at a resource centre rather we are a training organisation providing a consultation service, interpreting and translation services and training in ISL, Deaf culture and adaptation of information to suit a Deaf audience.  We promote the integration of hearing and Deaf people through mutual accommodation.

The major Deaf-led  representative organisations are:

Irish Deaf Society, 30 Blessington Street, Dublin 7
      World Federation of the Deaf
      European Union of the Deaf

Other organisations providing services to the Deaf community are:

National Association for Deaf people, 35 North Frederick Street, Dublin 1
National Association for Deaf people, 9a Francis Street, Galway
Cork Association for the Deaf, 5 Mac Curtin Street, Cork
Kerry Deaf Resource Centre, 4 Gas Terrace, Tralee, Co. Kerry
Mid West Deaf Association, c/o 9 Eden Tce, North Circular Road, Limerick
